The winter exam session’s Night Library will open its doors for one week in December and for three weeks in January. This gives students four weeks during which they can study in the library until midnight.

The one-week Night Library will take place during the second week of December. “In cooperation with the Student Union Office, we have agreed that students also need one week before the holidays to prepare more intensively for exams and assessments,” said Olga Einasto, head of the department of service of the library. “The experience from the past two years confirms this need – the library is very busy with students even in December.” The three-week Night Library period will be held in the new year, starting on 5 January.

The winter Night Library will be open from 8–12 December and from 5–23 January. During this period, the library will be open until midnight on weekdays, and from 12:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

In January, reading dogs will also be visiting the Night Library: on Tuesday, January 13, the red setter Minni will be there to help ease exam anxiety, followed a week later, on January 20, by the black Labrador Neti.

The library has now opened a well-being room, welcoming all students to relax and take a break from studying. During the Night Library, guided craft workshops take place in this room every Thursday at 6 p.m., where participants can make dreamcatchers and try crocheting.

The Night Library has been jointly organised by the UT Library and the UT Student Union Office since 2003.
