Night Library will open on 24 May

17.05.2021

Starting from next Monday, all students preparing for their exams and for their final theses can work at the library until midnight. The Nigh Library, organized together with the UT Student Union, will be open from Monday to Friday 9-24 and on Saturday and Sunday 12-24.

“Although online learning continues at the university, we have seen that many students still need a place where they can quietly concentrate,” said the head of the Service Department of the UT Library. “Many students will have their last exams in the next weeks and might need to study until late hours. They are all very welcome to the Night Library.”

In addition to studying in the reading rooms, the students can also book in advance and use the group work rooms. The restriction of only 2 persons in one room must still be followed.

Students can also rent an individual work room for an online exam or the defense of their final thesis. “We have supplied special rooms with a PC and headphones and microphone,” said Einasto. “The student can come, hands in their pockets, without a laptop and pass the exam.” The individual rooms with a PC can be used for a fee.

Due to the spread of coronavirus, there will be no special events during the Night Library, but students can enjoy several pop-up book exhibitions when having a rest break from studying.

The Night Library is open up to 6 June.
