A Photo Exhibition "Women in Science" Opened in UT Library

06.09.2019

On Friday, 06 September, the photo exhibition "Women in Science" was opened on the second floor area of the UT Library. The photos of the L´Oréal Baltic fellowship recipients in 2019 are exhibitied in the exhibition.

Founded in 1998, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science partnership was created to recognize and promote women in science. Its programs reward established women scientists whose outstanding achievements have contributed to the advancement of scientific knowledge and of its benefits to society and provide support to promising young women who are already making significant contributions in their scientific disciplines. In previous years, fellowships were awarded to Els Heinsalu and Karin Kogermann. The year the fellowships were granted to Tuul Sepp and Kaarin Parts.

To introduce this programme widely, a photo exhibition is organised every year to present the fellowhip recipients. It takes place in all three Baltic states.

The exhibition "Women in Science" will remain open in the UT Library until 6 October. .
