A beautiful present for yourself or for people dear to you from the UT Library
UT Library’s restorers of paper and book bindings can repair and restore your treasured memento, be it a valuable leather bookbinding, a favourite book that has lost its covers, an important family document, a large-format geographical map, or still something else, and give you advice about how to keep these things in good repair for a long time. If needed, we can supply archive boxes or covers for your materials, bind separate pages into albums and make new covers for a book.
Cost of restoration is time-based: 12.50 EUR/h + VAT. The amount of work depends on the conditions of the object and your wishes, conservation methods and materials are used. Generally, we follow the principle: as much as necessary, as little as possible.
UT Library’s experienced book binders can repair modern book bindings, laminate book covers and other objects, bind volumes of journals and newspapers.

About the Department of Preservation and Conservation
The UT Department of Preservation and Conservation aims to ensure the physical good conditions of printed materials held at the UT Library and to guarantee the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. Four specialists in the department take care of the repairing and restoration of the books.
