Night Library starts already in December

20.11.2024

The first week of the Night Library will take place this year in December, while in January, it will be possible to study at the library until midnight for three weeks.

Studying late into the night is still popular among students during exam and evaluation periods. "Since many courses have evaluations already in December, we decided together with the student union to move one week of the Night Library to this month," said Olga Einasto, the head of the library's service department. "If we see that students like this and use the opportunity, we are ready to organize the opening week of the Winter Night Library before the holidays in the future as well."

Last year, the library organised the Morning Library and was opened at 6 AM for a week. "Of course, there were some early risers, but rather few," Einasto recalled. "Experience shows that students prefer to study in the evenings, so starting the Night Library in December seemed like a good idea."

The Night Library, organized in cooperation with the student union, will be open from 9–13 December and 6-24 January. During this time, the library will be open for studying from 9 AM to midnight on weekdays and from 12 PM to 6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
