The University of Tartu Library served as one of the leading partners in the EODOPEN project (2019–2024), which aimed to digitize 15,000 books across 11 European countries. The project primarily focused on making newer works published in the 20th and 21st centuries accessible. Participating libraries carried out extensive work in clarifying copyright issues and obtaining the necessary permissions for digitization.
As part of the project, the University of Tartu Library digitized over 1,000 works by Estonian authors, now available in the UT digital archive, ADA. All books digitized by the project’s partners can also be accessed through the EODOPEN Common Portal.
