UT Library has been sharing information on open access and organizing seminars for over 10 years. By now, a tradition has developed to organize Open Access Week events in the fall and an international seminar on open science and open data in the spring, which are held in Tartu and Tallinn in cooperation with the DataCite Estonia Consortium.
The purpose of our events is to introduce international trends in open science, talk about problems and solutions related to the availability of scientific information, and discuss a better future for Estonia. We welcome researchers, doctoral students, financiers, administrators, librarians and all interested parties to think along and express their opinion at the seminars.
Open Access Week is a global event and an opportunity for the academic and research community to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research. During OA Week the University of Tartu Library has been hosted different events and introduced Open Science services and initiatives. More information below:
