Authorised Workstations and Standards

Authorised workstations

Authorised workstations can be used for reading e-books and other e-publications held in the digital archive DIGAR, which have been submitted as legal deposits with access restrictions set by the publishers.

Starting from 1 January 2017, legal deposit copies can be submitted both in printed and electronic versions. Authorised workstations enable reading and listening to the publications but do not allow printing, saving and connecting external media devices. Photographing or filming of the materials is prohibited.

Publication information in the e-catalogue ESTER is provided with links to the digital archive. Publications with access restrictions can be used only at authorised workstations.

The authorised workstations for digital legal deposit copies are located on the 2nd floor in the Rariora Reading Room and Newspapers and Journals Reading Room and on the 3rd floor in Music Room.

Estonian Standards

At the University of Tartu Library, you can access the complete collection of Estonian electronic standards. The computer designated for reading the standards is in the library's Great Hall on the 2nd floor.

To use the computer, you must log in. The username and password can be found on the information sheet next to the computer or obtained from the service desk.

You can view the complete collection of Estonian standards – all current Estonian standards, the majority of obsolete Estonian standards, and many European standard-like documents. In total, it is possible to access approximately 26,000 different documents.

The Estonian Standards Centre (EVS) online store provides access to the standards.

Please note: Standards cannot be downloaded or printed.
