User Registration

All persons older than 16 years can use the University of Tartu Library. In order to register, read the Library Rules and fill in the application form online or visit the information desk on the ground floor at the library. Your user privileges can be linked to your Estonian ID card, or you can get a separate library card (price 1.62); user privileges need to be renewed every two years.

Borrowing privileges are extended to:

  • Students and staff members of the University of Tartu,
  • Students and staff members of other universities and institutions that have signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Tartu (Estonian University of Life Sciences, Estonian Aviation Academy, Estonian Music and Theatre Academy Tartu branch, Baltic Defence College, Estonian Military Academy, Pallas University of Applied Arts, Tartu Academy of Theology, Tartu Theological Seminary, Tartu Health Care College, TalTech Tartu College), also the employees of the State Shared Service Centre and the students of UT Youth Academy,
  • Students and teachers of the gymnasiums of Tartu,
  • Registered residents of the city of Tartu.

 

Registering as a minor

To register as a library patron and to obtain the right to borrow books, a patron under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian. Download the form. Send the digitally signed form to utlibinfo@ut.ee

You can also fill in the form at the library, please go to the information desk. Bring the paper form to the information desk of the University of Tartu Library at W. Struve 1, Tartu.

The consent remains valid until it is withdrawn. If you wish to withdraw your consent or have any questions about data processing, please contact the University of Tartu Library at library@ut.ee.
