Photocopies, scans and printouts can be made on the ground floor, 2nd floor or on the 3rd floor of the library.
To print, you need to create a print account. You can create an account and make payments to the account on the Print in City page. You can also link a print account to a UT work certificate.
The Print in City service allows you to print works from the library's computers or over the Internet from your computer (as a PDF file) and directly from a memory stick (as a PDF file). To upload a file via the Print in City website, click on the button "Upload files" or send the file by e-mail to print@printincity.ee and follow the instructions received in the reply e-mail. To print via e-mail, add your e-mail address to the account settings. That way it can be identified from who the print job is coming from. UT members can also use the address print@ut.ee to send a file by e-mail. We recommend using the PDF format, it always guarantees the correct print result.
To print in the computer class, choose either a black-and-white (printer-BW) or a color printer (printer-COLOR - printer properties - Quality - Color mode - Color). Choose single or double sided printing and paper size (A4 or A3).
At the printer, identify yourself with the card associated with the print account (ID card, public transport card or UT employee ID card). If materials have not been printed within 48 hours, they will be deleted.
To photocopy, you need to create a print account. You can create an account and make additional payments to the account on the Print in City page. You can also link a print account to a UT employee ID card.
After logging in, select COPY. Choose a color (black or color). If necessary, select enlargement or reduction (copy scale) and the appropriate paper size (A4, A4R, A3 or manual feed). You can set the number of copies using the number keys. It is also possible to have 2-sided copies. If the original has a dark background, reduce the optical density. Press the START button to copy.
Scanning with overhead light scanner Bookeye V3
The scanner is located on the 2nd floor and can be used free of charge. You can save the scan result either on a USB stick or on a computer next to the scanner. You must be logged in to save the result to your computer. Logging into the computer is possible for UT members (with UT username and password) and registered users of the library (with reader card number and ESTER password). A quick guide for using the scanner is located next to the scanner, and a more comprehensive guide is also added to the desktop of the computer connected to the scanner.
Scanning with a print-copy device
To scan with a print-copy device, you need to create a print account. You can create an account and make additional payments to the account on the Print in City page. You can also link a print account to a UT employee ID card.
After logging in, choose a resolution of 100-600 dpi for scanning, we recommend choosing PDF (compact) as the file format. Files can be sent to the e-mail associated with your print account ("Send to yourself") or to a freely chosen address ("New destination"). Your mailbox must have enough space to receive large files.
It is also possible to scan text files with text recognition, in this case select PDF (OCR) as the file format.
