LibOCS (University Libraries Strengthening the Academia-Society Connection through Citizen Science in the Baltics) is a project launched in 2022 under the Erasmus+ program. Its primary goal is to enhance the connections between the academic community and society by leveraging the support of scientific libraries in the Baltic region. This initiative promotes open citizen science, encouraging collaboration between researchers and the broader public to address societal challenges and foster knowledge exchange.
Citizen Science for Librarians: A Self-Paced Learning Course
As part of the project, an open-access e-course has been developed to introduce the principles of citizen science and its implementation in the context of academic libraries. The course provides practical guidance and examples of how library staff can support citizen science initiatives and promote open science practices. The course is open to all interested participants and is freely accessible here.
