Night Library starts on the second day of the new year
The traditional night library begins on January 2nd and lasts for three weeks. Until January 19th, the library is open on weekdays until midnight.
"The beginning of January is traditionally a time for preparing for exams, so there was no question for us whether to organize the night library," said Olga Einasto, the head of the service department of the University of Tartu Library. "For those who inquire about therapy dogs, I can confirm that they will definitely be present this time as well." Breaks from studying can be taken in the sports and recreation area by training on a treadmill or playing table tennis. The university counselling center has also promised to be present on some evenings to provide advice on coping with stress.
The night library is once again organised in cooperation with the student council, with whom an morning library was organized in early December. "The library was open in the mornings from 6 for the first time," said Einasto, adding that the analysis of the attendance of the morning library is being prepared. "After this we will decide whether we will organize it in the future."
Students are welcome to the night library from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to midnight and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
