Requesting and picking up books via Akadeemia street entrance

Books can be requested from the online catalogue ESTER, where you can see which collections are accessible during the renovation. You can pick up the requested books up in the library on the next day (via the Akadeemia Street entrance). Books requested on the weekend will be available for picking up on Monday. The requested books are held for you for three days.

Loans service works from Mon to Fri 9–19 and Sat 12–16.

You can return books to the Returns locker at the Akadeemia Street entrance. 

Pop-up reading rooms in Veski str. 32

Pop-up reading rooms are located in Veski str. 32 (former building of the Estonian National Museum) . There are 3 reading rooms, 7 group work rooms, computer class and area for eating and recreation. Also, self-service printing and computer for the use of databases are available for the users. Assistance is provided in the information point.

Pop-up reading rooms are open Mon–Fr 9–21, Sat–Sun 12–18.

Renewal of due dates

You can renew due dates yourself in the My ESTER area of the online catalogue, send an e-mail laenutus@utlib.ee or call us 737 5772. Fines can be paid by bank transfer or card payment in the information point of the pop-up reading rooms in Veski str. 32 (information available on the web page).  

Use of databases and borrowing from other libraries (ILL)

You can find subject literature in the databases.

Interlibrary Loans (ILL) help you to request the books and journal articles, which are packed for the renovation period and whose location in the e-catalogue ESTER is “UTL Stacks (temporarily unavailable)“. The books with this reference are requested for you free of charge.
