The exhibition "Mordor 89" shows the interior of a legendary hostel

19.01.2021
The exhibition "Mordor 89", showing photos taken in the non-renovated part of the Narva mnt 89 student dormitory, is open in the UT Library.

The photos capture the Soviet-era atmosphere of the dormitory’s rooms and doors, which the students have been able to design themselves. The photos of the dormitory, known as the hostel of the students of medicine, are taken just a couple of months before the start of the demolition of the building.

Mordor 89 is a youth group with five members: Mariana Tulf, Laura Ermel, Hanna Eliisa Madilainen, Leila Niilus and Eduard Pavlov. The aim of the group is to draw attention to the students’ mental health and well-being and to organize events that support the goal.

The Mordor 89 project is funded by the Archimedes Foundation Youth Agency.

The exhibition "Mordor 89" will be open until 15 March.
