16.11.2020

On November 18, UT Library and several other memory institutions of the University of Tartu celebrate Academic Heritage Day. This year the focus is on the heritage that Karl Morgenstern, the founder and first director of the library and museum, left to the university.

During this day everyone can visit the exhbitions, inspired by the heritage of Morgenstern, in the library as well as in the UT Art Museum. At 2 p.m. the workshop of making gems, organized and guided by the staff of the art museum, will take place on the 2nd floor of the library, just in front of the exhibition hall. At 4 p.m. the curator tour in the exhibition "Tartu Classicist. Karl Morgenstern 250" will follow.

UNIVERSEUM, the Europen Heritage Network, established 18 November as European Academic Heritage Day. The aim of his day is to raise the awareness of the university heritage and introduce it via different events and guided tours.
