UT Library will remain closed due to renovation

12.09.2016

Dear UT Library users!

We are sorry to say that, unfortunately, our Library will be closed until at least 12 December, although we initially hoped to reopen on 4 October. The UT Estate Office said that the renovation company AS YIT has not been able to fulfil their contractual obligations, running behind the schedule by several months. We are still doing our utmost to ensure the best possible conditions for our users for receiving the books they need.

The service of loaning books of the reading room open collections will be continued via the Akadeemia Street entrance. Starting from 1 October, the service will also be available on Saturdays. The Information Point in the University Main Building, where it is possible to register as library user, solve borrowing-related problems and pay fines, will remain open.

Starting from October, the Library will offer its users a free-of-charge service of Interlibrary Loans for borrowing the books, which are not accessible due to the renovation, from other Estonian libraries. In addition to this, when needed, the Library will offer the help of its staff members to subject libraries located at different university institutions to enable them to keep longer opening hours. Longer opening hours are necessary for bettering the students’ learning environment and for creating better conditions for holding and using the materials received via the interlibrary loan service.

We are hoping for your understanding and support,

UT Library
