The exhibition of the Finnish fashion photographer Elina Simonen is inspired by poetry

The exhibition "From a word to a picture" by the Finnish fashion photographer Elina Simonen is open in the second floor lobby of the library. The photos are supplemented by the poetry texts that were a source of inspiration for the pictures.

An extraordinary and cross-border exhibition "From a word to a picture" brings together several fields of art, different languages and creative people from three countries. In addition to the photographer Elina Simonen, the exhibition is also a meeting point for the poets Susinukke Kosola (Finland), Sveta Grigorjeva (Estonia) and Madara Gruntmane (Latvia) ning the young fasbion designers Triin Tint and Tauri Västrik (Estonia), Laima Jurča (Latvia) and Laura Rusanen (Finland) from Aalto University.

The fashion photos inspired from poetry take us to Lasnamäe, Rummu quarry and Kohila.

Elina Simonen is a fashion and portrait photographer of Finnish origin, who has worked all over the world. In addition to technical accuracy, her works can be also described by strong artistic ambition. The exhibited series of photos was made in cooperation withe the style designer Alli-Liis Vandel.

The exhibition celebrates the 30th year of activity of the Finnish Institute in Estonia and it is open in the UT Library until 17 April.
