Night Library will open on 4 January

21.12.2020

From 4 January until 17 January UT Library organizes a traditional Night Library. During these two weeks the library is open until midnight.

“We certainly had made plans for the Night Library,” said UT Library Director Krista Aru. “However, as the university has at present adopted distance learning, we were doubting whether the Night Library would be necessary.” The need for the Night Library was discussed with the Student Council and together, we reached the decision that students should have the opportunity to study in a quiet environment which favours concentrating.  “Our building is large, spacious and well-ventilated. It is an ideal place for studying. We hope that the students will use this chance,” Aru added.

Students can use reading rooms on the second and third floor, as well as group work rooms and the computer classroom. Students can also sit for online exams here. If necessary, they can borrow web cameras or buy headphones at the service points.

Due to the present restrictions, no events will be held during the Night Library this year. The library asks everyone to follow the 2+2 rule and wear a mask. Naturally, you cannot come to the library when feeling ill.

The night library is open from Monday to Friday 9-24, on Saturday and Sunday 12-24.
