Night Library lasts longer than ever before

The Night Library, which is already 20 years old this year, starts on May 15th and lasts for five weeks. Although during this period students focus mainly on studying, the Night Library, together with the UT Student Union, plans to organize several events.

"This year's Night Library is really more eventful than usual because of its important anniversary," said Olga Einasto, head of the UT Library service department, and promised that there will be various activities for everyone during the five weeks. "For example, in cooperation with the Student Union, there will be style nights on Fridays, and the university counselling center will offer workshops on several days, where they will instruct how to cope with studying during a stressful period. I can confirm that the therapy dogs from the Association of Assistance and Therapy Dogs will also be present."

Students have access to both second and third-floor reading rooms as well as group study rooms, with a total of room for nearly 1,000 learners. In addition, with the help of the city of Tartu since last year, the library has installed a wifi network in front of the library so that students can also study outside in good weather.

The Night Library will be officially opened on May 15th at 9 pm, when muffins will be offered to those who arrive at the foyer. Detailed information about all events will soon be added to the library's website and social media channels.

From Monday to Friday, the Night Library is open from 9 am until midnight, and on weekends from 12 pm to 6 pm. The Night Library lasts until June 18th.
