UT Library has migrated the DATADOI research data repository to Dataverse, a platform designed to support the description, sharing, publication, and long-term preservation of research data. As part of the technical upgrade, the repository website has also received a refreshed look.

“The migration from the DSpace platform to Dataverse took several months, as we needed to develop and test the necessary solutions,” said Merilen Ivask-Oprelianska, research data collections specialist at the library, who led the migration process. “The renewed platform is more convenient for researchers to use. Dataverse enables more detailed data descriptions and provides greater flexibility in data management. In addition, the updated software enhances the repository’s security and supports anonymous peer review.”

The use of the DATADOI repository continues to grow year by year. Last year, the website received more than 32,000 visits.

Dataverse is a software platform specifically designed for storing, sharing, and citing research data. It allows users to create hierarchical datasets and supports DataCite metadata standards, DOI management, data citation, and the FAIR principles, helping to make research data more findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.
