Together with the Student Council, UT Library will organize the Morning Library from April 22nd to 26th, where students are welcome to study starting from 6 a.m. On May 20th, the Night Library will commence, with the building open until midnight on working days for three weeks.
On Friday, April 5th, at 4:15 p.m., an exhibition "Kant 300 in Tartu: From Manuscripts to Heaven" will be opened at the exhibition hall of the University of Tartu Library in honor of the 300th anniversary of the philosopher Immanuel Kant's birth. The exhibition marks the beginning of a month-long series of university-wide events centered around Kant.

Happy Independence Day!
On Sunday, 04 February, starting from 1.30 p.m., UT Library will host the indoor orienteering competition.
The starting point of the competition will be set up in the lobby of the main entrance and the checkpoints are located all over the three floors of the library’s public area – in reading rooms, open stacks and other public spaces and lobbies. The preparation will start at 12 p.m., the start will be given at 1.30 p.m. The competition will last 1-1,5 hours.
A collection box for the candle leftovers is placed at the main entrance of the university library, The remnants are used by the volunteers who will make trench candles for the Ukrainian defenders.
Triin Soomets, the initiator of the project, stated that all candles and candle remnants that people no longer need are welcome. The collected remnants will be used to create trench candles, on which one can cook when there is no electricity, providing warmth to hands during the current cold weather.
The traditional night library begins on January 2nd and lasts for three weeks. Until January 19th, the library is open on weekdays until midnight.

Medical Education – Basic and Anatomical Sciences collection - Lippincott textbooks for students for the subjects: anatomy, biochemistry, embryology, histology, pharmacology and others. The platform provides videos, knowledge tests.
Due to the celebration of the 104th anniversary of the University of Tartu on Friday, 1 December, the library is open 9-12.
The UT Library Calendar for 2024 focuses on Tartu, the European capital of culture next year, and displays the growth and development of the city over three centuries.
On Wednesday, October 25th, artist Kristel Schwede will open the exhibition "Those Horizons" on the third floor of the library.
On Thursday, November 2nd, at 2 p.m., the exhibition "Veterinary Medicine 175" by the Estonian University of Life Sciences will be opened in front of the first reading room of the UT Library.
The UT Library is organizing an Open Access Week from October 23 to 29 to promote and increase the use and publication of open access research information. Throughout the week, various events and initiatives will provide useful information about the opportunities and services related to open science.
The State Information System Authority (RIA) will close the private email addresses (firstname.lastname@eesti.ee) created for email correspondence from November 1st.
