New Service for Students Writing Their Final Theses
Starting from 1 March, the UT Library will provide a new service for students who are writing their final theses. The service is in the form of personal consultations, given by the specialists of the Service Department and the Department of Subject Librarians.

UT Library Publishes Pages from the 100 Years Old Newspaper Postimees
Starting from today, the UT Library will daily upload the digitised version of the newspaper Postimees, which was published on that day 100 years ago. This is a gift from the library for the 100th birthday of the Republic of Estonia.

UT Library Opening Hours Before and After Independence Day
Dear readers! On Friday, 23 February the UT library main building (Struve str) and pop-up reading rooms (Liivi str) are open until 12. On Saturday, 24 February the library is closed. On Sunday, 25 February the library is closed, pop-up reading rooms in Veski str are open 12-18. Happy Independence Day!

Books From E-bookshop of UT Library Can Now be Ordered to the Parcel Machines
When making a purchase in the e-bookshop of UT Library, you can now order it to be sent to Omniva or Itella parcel machines. „E-shops are becoming more and more popular and thus, the number of purchases in our e-shop is increasing all the time," told Kristhel Haak who is responsible for the orders in the e-shop. „Now the client can choose the parcel machine the location of which suits him or her best and we will send the book(s) there."

New Language Resource Created by UT Library and Estonian National Library
Collaboration between the University of Tartu Library and the Estonian National Library has resulted in a new language resource, making accessible the frequency lists of n-grams which were created on the basis of newer Estonian works of fiction. The resource includes both the lists of n-grams as they appear in the texts and as lemma n-grams.

On 2 January, UT Library will open its traditional Night Library in the pop-up reading rooms on Veski Street. Night Library welcomes the students from Monday till Sunday, from 9 a.m. until midnight.

Delay in the pick-up of books requested on 17 and 18 November
Dear readers! Due to the renovation works the books that are requested on Friday, 17 November and Saturday, 18 November will be available for picking up on Monday, 20 November. The service point in the main building of the library (Struve 1) is open on Friday 9-19 and Saturday 12-16 and all books requested earlier will be available for picking up on time. The University of Tartu Library Calendar for 2018 introduces the Roman Carnival as described 230 years ago by the great German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832) in his book Das Römische Carneval.

From 23 - 27 October 2017 OpenAIRE celebrates Open Access Week with a series of webinars, every day at 12.00-15.00 (Estonian time).
